Councilors - Consejeros

Se está formando un nuevo equipo

The Chapter happenings of the 5th July were marked by two significant events: the Eucharistic celebration which the PANAM Zone took charge of; and the election of three new Counselors to our SVD Generalate team.

The morning Eucharist had hymns in Guarani, Portuguese, English and Spanish languages. Besides, the Capitulars were offered colour, incense, dances and typical gifts from the American part of the world. The Word and shared Bread, representing our Mission presence on the Continent, was expressed in a ritual of enthronement of the Bible. At the moment of Communion rite, beginning with the praying of the Our Father, in circular formation the participants surrounded the altar and the Church’s perimeter.

The Chapter’s activity of the day saw the election of three General Counselors, who, together with the newly elected Superior General and his Assistant, will constitute the leadership team of the SVD for the coming six years. Those elected were: newcomer Bro Guy Mazola Mido, of the Togo Province, Fr Gregory Pinto, re-elected for another six years, and Fr Budy Kleden, of the Indonesia Ende Province, a newly member added to the Generalate team. Awaited now is the voting for the two remaining members who shall make up the complete leadership team. The afternoon was given over to meetings on a Zonal level.
