Dear Marek

Greetings from Giyani

This morning around 3 am three men group attacked Malamulele parish, John Kennedy was alone in the parish as Paul had made a trip to the pastoral center to accompany the youth for the youth celebration. They broke open the room then they had beaten Kennedy with a wooden stick and hammer, one can see the visible marks and bruises on his back, with God's grace no head injury or fractures. they have stolen three laptops, one cellphone, and cash worth nearly twenty five thousand rand, also some cloths, suitcases, mass-kit and shoes.

When the thieves left the place he managed to untie, and call one of the parishioner who came to help him and he too informed me so I managed to reach Malamulele by 6 in the morning. Police where called in for the investigation. Later I took him to a local private doctor who made thorough investigation and confirmed that he has no fractures except bruises in the body. At present he is recovering in Giyani, I have made an appointment with one catholic doctor, tomorrow morning I will take him for a second opinion.

Kindly keep him in your prayers

Thanks

Regards

Fr. Joseph

Dear Confreres,

Greetings from Francistown.

Few minutes ago I received a very sad news that Fr. Kennedy from Malamulele was attacked during the last might by robbers and beaten.

It is a difficult experience for anybody and we should support our brother now with our prayers and in any other way.

Perhaps it is also a call to evaluate our security arrangements in all our missions and parishes, both in South Africa and in Botswana.

In Love of the Word,

Mareko
