The Sunday of the Word of God, established by Pope Francis in his Apostolic Letter Aperuit Illis on September 30, 2019, will be celebrated on January 26, 2025. This year’s theme, inspired by Psalm 119:74, is “I hope in your Word.”

For the Divine Word Missionaries, this celebration holds profound significance. The Word of God is central to our lives, serving as our guiding light and a cornerstone of our mission. The importance of this occasion was emphasized in the SVD 19th General Chapter, which recommended that “The Sunday of the Word of God should be celebrated in a special way in SVD communities, institutions, and parishes.”
