SVDs for Climate Justice: Every Voice Counts

As Divine Word Missionaries, we are sent to share God’s love and to stand close to people, especially those who are poor and vulnerable. Today, many of the communities we serve are suffering because of the climate crisis: stronger storms, rising seas, droughts, and loss of land and livelihood. Caring for Creation is not something extra. It is part of our mission and our faith.

Our congregation is joining the global campaign “Religious Life for Climate Justice: Turning Hope Into Action.” This campaign asks governments to take stronger steps to protect the earth by improving their Nationally Determined Contributions, or NDCs. These are the official climate action plans each country submits under the Paris Agreement. They show how nations intend to reduce pollution and respond to climate change.

Too often, these promises are not enough. That is why religious men and women all over the world are adding their voices, asking leaders to act with courage and responsibility.

We invite every confrere to join by signing the statement. It is a simple step, but together it becomes a strong witness of our faith and our hope. Let us turn our concern into action and care for our common home. Visit the link below to know more and to sign up:
