Our confrere from the Philippines Fr. Lawrence Llona SVD, who arrived yesterday in Kampala to join our confreres working with the refugees in Uganda, was involved in a serious vehicular accident. The motorbike that he was riding was mowed down by a truck around 12:30 PM today. Other people who were riding other motorcycles and cars were also hit by the truck.

Father Llona was with Father Francis Naduviledathu, the Superior, to apply for the work visa. The condition of Father Llona is serious. Please pray for him. He is now in a hospital in Kampala run by the Sisters. The Papal Nuncio, our confrere Michael Blume, is on his way to see him.

When the accident happened Father Francis was ahead of the motorcycle Father Llona was riding. When the truck hit Father Llona’s motorcycle he felt sidewise and impacted the road.
