From Rest to Action: The Harmonious Dance of Yin and Yang in Our Meetings
After over two weeks of plenary meetings, group work, discussions, and voting on important issues, the Capitulars have been instrumental in shaping a balanced, productive, and harmonious journey. Their active participation and input have been crucial, making the various processes and energies interdependent and mutually beneficial, creating a vibrant and dynamic environment.

Today’s discussions truly reflected this harmony. The work done was built on the input from last Saturday’s session, showcasing how each step is crucial to the overall process. The Capitulars reviewed and discussed two main parts of the working document: 1) Embracing a Wounded World and Our Own Reality, and 2) Your Light Must Shine. Based on their experiences, they were invited to suggest additions and modifications or highlight any significant topics for the drafting committee to consider.
To prioritize these topics, Capitulars used colored dots to indicate what they found most important. This visual and interactive method allowed everyone to see which issues were considered crucial at a glance. The results of this exercise set the stage for today’s group discussions on critical areas: biblical apostolate, formation, youth and family, finances, spirituality, synodality, and lay partners. The main question addressed was: What is the essence and scope of each chosen topic? This question aimed to deepen the understanding and clarify the focus of each area, ensuring a comprehensive approach to the discussions.

In the plenary session, the participants also tackled amendments to the Constitutions, presented as resolutions that required voting. This was a meticulous process, but it went smoothly thanks to the significant help from the Procurator General, who provided canonical insights and clarified various nuances. His expertise was invaluable in ensuring the amendments were legally sound and aligned with our broader goals.
Not all discussions can be contained in this update, but one thing is clear: the Capitulars had a full, productive day, embodying the spirit of hard work and active participation. Their dedication was evident in every discussion, every decision, and every collaborative effort. It was a day marked by intense focus and meaningful progress.
Reflecting on the week, we’ve been clearly balancing work and relaxation, much like the Yin and Yang concept. Last Sunday, the Capitulars enjoyed a well-deserved break, engaging in leisurely activities, enjoying encounters, and savoring delicious food. This downtime was essential for recharging and reducing stress. Today, however, was the opposite—dedicated to focused discussions, group work, and decision-making. This balance between relaxation (Yin) and work (Yang) is vital for maintaining overall well-being and productivity.
Last Sunday was the Yin, providing relaxation, while today was the Yang, emphasizing productive efforts and goal achievement. This cyclical balance ensures the participants remain energized and effective in their endeavors. By embracing relaxation and work, they create a holistic approach that sustains their efforts and fosters a healthy, dynamic environment.
