Generalate

At the meeting of February 14, 2025, Father Superior General and his Council appointed Father Piotr Gracz, SVD, as head of the SVD Generalate Media Department.

Fr. Gracz was born in Poland, where he was formed as a Divine Word Missionary. After professing his perpetual vows and ordination, he was sent to Colombia where he worked in parish ministry and was also superior of the District of Cali. He studied English in Epworth, Chicago Province, USA and then moved to the Philippines to pursue a Master’s Degree in Development Communication. Back in Colombia, he continued his pastoral service and was in charge of communication at the provincial level. In 2019, he was called to work in Rome, where he was appointed responsible for the SVD curia’s web pages, the renewal of these and partially for the Generalate’s informatics system. He was also responsible for the project and implementation of the audiovisual studio that serves the General Curia and other entities. Currently, in addition to his mission at the Generalate, he is a member of the Council of the Collegio del Verbo Divino in Rome.

In this new assignment, Piotr will be responsible for leading the team and sharing the tasks with the coordinator of the characteristic dimension of communication, fostering collaboration.

We wish him all the best in this important task of service to the Generalate and in facilitating communication with each of our confreres, as well as with our lay partners and collaborators in the mission.
