“5 Minutes of God” Words” – Spreading the Word Daily, Nourishing Faith Each Morning

VPhạm Duy Thạch, SVD

In today’s fast-paced digital world, finding a moment of stillness to listen to the Word of God can be both refreshing and life-giving. Out of this desire was born the program “5 MINUTES OF GOD’S WORD” — a daily source of spiritual nourishment created by the seminarians of the Divine Word Missionaries (SVD), Vietnam Province.

These short yet profound reflections, rooted in the daily Gospel readings, invite listeners to encounter the Lord and allow His Word to shape their everyday lives. Each year, priests and seminarians from the Philosophy and Theology communities contribute by preparing Gospel reflections. The texts are then carefully selected, edited, and transformed into short video meditations published on two official YouTube channels: “5 Minutes of God’s Word” and “5 Minutes of God’s Word – SVD Seminary.”

Though produced with simple means, the project reflects remarkable dedication. A small team of seminarians shares the workload: two manage the audio recordings, three select visuals, and two handle video editing. Despite the demands of academic and religious life, they use their limited free time to ensure that a new reflection is ready every morning.

The initiative has grown beyond YouTube with the creation of a Biblical Apostolate community on the Zalo platform, where members share, pray, and encourage one another in their faith. After four years of consistent effort, the channels now have more than 10,000 subscribers — a clear sign of the project’s growing impact and the faithful support of viewers.

Ultimately, “5 MINUTES OF GOD’S WORD” is more than a media project. It is a quiet but powerful form of digital evangelization. Each video is like a seed of the Gospel planted in the hearts of viewers through a small screen — where the light of God’s Word continues to guide souls on their journey toward their true home in Heaven.
