International Women’s Day Celebrated with Grandeur Across India Central Province
International Women’s Day Grand Celebrations at JPIC Centres
The Justice, Peace, and Integrity of Creation (JPIC) centres, namely SAMMAN and Janvikas, organized large-scale celebrations on March 8, bringing together hundreds of women. SAMMAN’s event was particularly noteworthy, with over 800 women participating.
The organization recognized and honoured women dedicated to uplifting their communities. The event’s chief guest was Mrs. Malti Ray, Mayor of Bhopal, while the guest of honor was Mr. Sangeeta Jouhari, Registrar of RNTU University.
Additionally, eight women sub-inspectors from different police stations graced the occasion, making it a women-led celebration.
International Women’s Day Celebrations in Parishes and Mission Stations
Several parishes and mission stations commemorated Women’s Day with joy, faith, and a spirit of inclusivity on 9th March which was on Sunday.
At St. Arnold’s Parish, Vijaynagar, Indore, a diocesan-level celebration took place on March 9, beginning with a vibrant procession.
Approximately 635 women and 30 sister animators from 22 parishes of the Indore Diocese participated.
The event was graced by Bishop Thomas Mathew of Indore, Vicar General Fr. Simonraj, Provincial Superior Fr. Paulraj SVD, and Parish Priest Fr. John Wakhla SVD, alongside other clergy members.
Meanwhile, St. Joseph’s Church, Dahod, hosted a heartfelt celebration, bringing together men, women, and children to express faith, love, and respect for women’s pivotal roles in society.
At St. Arnold’s Church in Meghnagar, around 200 women participated in a symbolic candle procession, highlighting their role as the light of their families.
Fr. Joemon SVD addressed the gathering, drawing inspiration from Mother Mary to remind them of their responsibilities toward family and children.
The Udaipur district also saw spirited celebrations across mission stations in Divya Asharam, Phalasia, Asunta Bhavan Ogna, and Nirmala Niketan Jhadol. The events featured liturgical services, games, and community meals, engaging 40 women in Phalasia, 90 in Ogna, and over 300 in Jhadol.
Women’s Day Observed in Educational Institutions
St. Arnold’s Schools in Palda, Vijayanagar, and Lalaram Nagar, St. Arnold’s Kindergarten Godhra, St. Arnold’s School, Jalod, among others, hosted various activities to commemorate women’s achievements in different fields.
These schools provided a platform for women to share experiences and inspire one another. The management organized engaging programs, including quizzes, games, and interactive sessions, fostering a sense of unity and empowerment.
The widespread celebrations across the India Central Province (INC) underscored the significance of International Women’s Day in recognizing the contributions of women across different sectors.
With a blend of gratitude, inspiration, and community participation, the events served as a powerful reminder of the need to uphold and support women’s rights and empowerment.
