June 2025: A Month of Blessing for the SVD Vietnam Province

June 2025 was truly a month of grace for the SVD-VIE Province. It was filled with meaningful events and gatherings involving 170 SVD members from across the province, along with several confreres on home leave in Nha Trang.
Highlighted Events:
- From June 6 to 11, 170 confreres gathered at the Province Center for their five-day Annual Retreat, guided by the Most Rev. Vincent Nguyễn Văn Bản, Bishop of the Hải Phòng Diocese. The retreat centered on the theme “Witnesses of Hope.” On Pentecost Sunday, all participants renewed their missionary commitment by reciting the Prayer of Dedication to the Holy Spirit.
- The Entrance Rite into the Divine Word Novitiate for eight new candidates took place on June 12 during Evening Prayer and Eucharistic Adoration. Fr. JB Nguyễn Hữu Duy, SVD, Provincial Superior, presided and officially welcomed the new novices.
- The Eucharistic Celebration for the Perpetual Profession of Vows by eight confreres was held on June 13. Fr. Provincial presided at the Mass, joined by over 80 concelebrants. Families, friends, benefactors, and religious communities also attended to congratulate the newly perpetually professed confreres.
- The SVD150 Jubilee Celebration Performance Team met with the coordinator on the morning of June 11 to discuss, design, and finalize the script and screenplay for the upcoming prayerful musical evening scheduled for September 8, 2025.
- Coordinators of the Four Characteristic Dimensions of the SVD held individual meetings on June 12, with the participation of their respective teams and collaborators.
- The Rite of Installation to the Ministries of Lector and Acolyte for twelve scholastics was celebrated during the morning Mass on June 14. These newly installed candidates will soon begin their Overseas Training Program (OTP) in various countries and regions.
- The SVD150 Jubilee Celebration Performance Team met with the coordinator on the morning of June 11 to discuss, design, and finalize the script and screenplay for the upcoming prayerful musical evening scheduled for September 8, 2025.
- Coordinators of the Four Characteristic Dimensions of the SVD held individual meetings on June 12, with the participation of their respective teams and collaborators.

- Scholastics renewed their temporary vows on June 15 during the Mass of the Solemnity of the Most Holy Trinity — a central feast and key element of SVD spirituality.
- The Mass for the First Profession of Vows of eleven novices is scheduled for July 16.
This summer, instead of the usual pastoral assignments, scholastics from the Formation Houses will take turns staying at the Province Center. They will work together to complete the under-construction Pastoral Center and Provincial compound in preparation for the SVD150 Jubilee Celebration Program (September 8) and the Closing Mass (September 9), marking the 150th Anniversary of the Society of the Divine Word.
