Lecture “Incarnating the Word” in Chicago for the SVD 150th Jubilee

To mark the 150th Anniversary of the Society of the Divine Word, Marcelo Cattaneo, SVD, delivered a lecture entitled “Incarnating God’s Word in a Global Missionary Setting” on Wednesday, September 3, 2025, at Wendelin Hall in Techny, Illinois. About 40 people attended in-person and via Zoom.

The presentation focused on situating the Society’s mission within the current global and Church context, emphasizing the need to be locally incarnated while maintaining an international perspective, guided by fidelity to the wounded and creativity inspired by Jesus’ promise of fullness of life, in alignment with the Society’s 19th General Chapter directives.
