Mission for the Catholic Women Action Group
SSD Uganda Communication Team
During the sessions, we focus on empowering the women through formation in key areas, including time management for balancing family and personal responsibilities, active participation in social volunteering and chapel ministries, and leading family prayer, particularly the Rosary and Scripture sharing
Throughout the Lenten season, our formation emphasizes spiritual renewal, inviting the women to deepen their relationship with God and live more fully according to the teachings of the Catholic Church. They are actively involved in prayer, fasting, almsgiving, and devotional practices such as the Rosary, Divine Mercy Chaplet, and Stations of the Cross every Friday.
Since the establishment of Saint Arnold Janssen Parish in Ariwa (Arua Diocese), we have welcomed over 200 new women from 16 chapels into the Catholic Women Action group. Together, they engage in a variety of pastoral and charitable activities, including visiting the sick and bringing them Holy Communion, supporting youth, children, and lay leaders during events such as retreats, pilgrimages, workshops, football tournaments, and choir competitions—often by helping with food preparation and logistics.
Our goal is to continue expanding these workshops and seminars, equipping the Catholic Women Action group to grow as leaders in faith and service. Their dedication has already borne much fruit in our community, enriching both family life and the spiritual vitality of the mission.
With faith in God’s love and mercy, we trust that through these women, the Bidibidi Mission Settlement will continue to flourish—both in spirit and in service.
