Women of the Ambassa Deanery gather in fellowship at St. Raphael Catholic Church.

Mothers’ Association Hosts Deanery-Level Seminar in Kamranga

Ivan DSilva, SVD

A significant gathering of mothers from four parishes took place at St. Raphael Catholic Church, Kamranga, on January 10–11, organized by Mrs. Kimi Halam, the Deanery-level Secretary for Ambassa.

The majority of participants arrived on the second day, when at 9:30 AM on the 11th, Fr. Ivan D’Silva, SVD—serving as both parish priest and Dean of the Ambassa Deanery—celebrated a special Mass dedicated to the intentions of all women in the Deanery. A total of 68 women from various parishes were present, accompanied by Sr. Veronica, the Diocesan Secretary for the Commission of Women.

Following the Mass, Fr. Ivan offered a catechetical session on the profound meaning of the Sacrament of Baptism. He explained that Baptism not only cleanses original sin but also empowers the baptized to live out three essential roles: King, Prophet, and Priest. He urged the women to embody these roles in their daily lives—as prophets by boldly proclaiming God’s truth; as kings by taking leadership within their families, villages, and Church communities; and as priests by living and sharing the Word of God.

The workshop concluded with the election of a new committee to guide the Deanery-level women’s association in its mission going forward.
