A book published by Fr Victor Sagayam Zackarias SVD titled, “Paradigm of the New Evangelization: A Study of Paradigms of Evangelization in the Church with Reference to Tamil Nadu, India” explores the genesis and development of the concept of the New Evangelization bringing out clearly various nuances and the purpose of the new evangelization and examining profoundly the present context of the universal Church with particular reference to the Church in Tamil Nadu, India. This book is a path-breaking work that studies the missionary contributions and the methodology of some notable missionaries such as St. Thomas, St. Francis Xavier, Robert de Nobili, St. John de Britto, Joseph Beschi and St. Devasahayam Pillai. The original contribution of the book is the application of paradigm theory to the work of these pioneering missionaries who stand as inspiring models for the era of the New Evangelization. Following the paradigms of these illuminous missionaries of the past, this book suggests some new ways and new forms to the new evangelizers of today, to find appropriate method and means to proclaim anew the Gospel in the Local Church of Tamil Nadu.
