On November 3, 2025, Fr. Ribeiro participated in the Rite of Blessing of the newly-restored Novitiate House in Kim Châu, presided over by Most Rev. Matthaeus Nguyễn Văn Khôi, Bishop of the Diocese of Quy Nhơn.
With the Postulants in Nha Trang, he invited the confreres to always maintain an open spirit and to keep learning with the attitude of “One Heart, Many Faces.” He further emphasized: “You must be aware that the core purpose of learning languages and cultures, and of deepening your knowledge, is not merely to know more, but to carry out the mission and proclaim the Gospel.”
At the Theologate in Sai Gon, Fr. Ribeiro shared an overview of the general situation of the Society of the Divine Word worldwide and offered several orientations for mission and vocation in the context of the many current changes. The confreres also had the opportunity to express their concerns and missionary experiences, particularly emphasizing the value of the OTP program in which many members have participated. The Superior General expressed his joy in witnessing the growth, international spirit, and linguistic ability of the confreres—positive signs of future missionaries who are called to bring the Light of the Gospel to all peoples.
The Superior General shared:
“During this visit, I was deeply moved by the confreres who are retired and residing at the Provincial House Community. I wish to express my respect and gratitude to our senior confreres who have dedicated their lives to service and who continue to be exemplary witnesses for the younger generation today. Furthermore, I am very impressed by the formation program of the Vietnam Province, especially the Overseas Training Program (OTP). I have observed that through this program, the students have demonstrated clear confidence in engaging in dialogue in various languages: English, French, Portuguese, and even Spanish. I am very pleased to see that the Vietnam Province is growing well both in its infrastructures and in the quality of its formation program.”
Although brief, this pastoral visit left a very positive impression on the Superior General. He expressed his hope that the Vietnam Province will continue to receive many vocations, so as to keep sending missionaries to bear witness to the Light throughout the world.
