SSpS Launches New Congregational Logo
Sr. Elaine Faith Taneo, SSpS
Congregational Coordinator for Communication
The desire to refresh the congregation’s visual identity was first discussed during the 14th General Chapter in 2014. The Chapter called for a symbol that would express the depth of SSpS spirituality and missionary charism in ways that respond to the realities of contemporary mission.
In response to the 15th General Chapter’s recommendation in 2022, a Logo Commission was formed under the Congregational Communication Team. Their task was to create a design that respects the congregation’s heritage while introducing a fresh and globally resonant visual language. After months of prayer, discernment, creative dialogue, and communal dreaming, the final design was approved by the Congregational Leadership Team in late 2024, with plans to launch it during the 2025 the 6th International Assembly of Provincial and Regional Leaders.
The milestone of unveiling was preceded by messages from Sr. Kreti Sanhuez Vidal (General Councilor), Sr. Miriam Altenhofen (Congregational Leader), and Sr. Elaine Faith Taneo (Communications Coordinator). A video montage illustrated the discernment journey. At the conclusion of the unveiling, two large banners were unfurled, revealing the new logo—a moment met with joyful applause and heartfelt celebration.
The assembly participants received commemorative gift bags containing a custom-designed tote bag, notebook, pen, name tag, congregational ID, and water flask—all bearing the new logo. The Sisters received the gifts with joy and gratitude. Sr. Mikaelin Bupu (Assistant Congregational Leader) delivered a heartfelt closing message, expressing thanks to all who made the celebration possible.
A group photo captured the historic moment and the spirit of unity it embodied.
This occasion was more than a logo launch; it was the celebration of a journey shaped by prayer, communal cooperation, and the life-giving breath of the Spirit. Moving forward, the new logo stands as a sign of unity, renewal, and readiness for SSpS mission in today’s world.
