SVD Philippines Charts New Path with 1st Vocation Promoters Workshop
Nonito Gallego, SVD
This manual underscores an essential truth: “Our formation is for mission, and formation is mission” (RFG, 4).
In the same spirit, the Vocation Promoters of the Philippine sub-zone recognized the need to harmonize their strategies with this vision. Just as the manual seeks to unify formation, vocation promotion must also be aligned—reflecting the same integrality and purpose. Thus, the workshop aims in crafting a Manual for SVD Vocation Promoters emphasizing a significant truth: vocation promotion for mission and vocation promotion is mission.
The chosen theme, “We are one bread, one body”, beautifully expresses this call for unity, cooperation, and communion among vocation promoters. Like the Body of Christ, the work of vocation promotion is not individual but collective—many parts, yet one mission: we are all vocation promoters.
Over two days, vocation directors, assistants, former vocation animators, district vocation animators, and SVD lay partners came together at the Laudato Si Farm. Through discussions, sharing, and collaboration, the workshop became a space of listening, learning, and planning.
The gathering formally ended on Day 2, but the real mission is only beginning. Future face-to-face and online meetings are already planned to ensure continuity, updates, and refinement of the manual.
With God’s grace, the SVD Philippine Vocation Promoters Manual is expected to be completed before the year ends—marking a new milestone in how vocation promotion truly serves the mission. Indeed, united in one bread and one body, the SVD vocation promoters continue their journey with renewed hope, deeper communion, and a shared mission.
