The assembly emphasized that the vocation of the Brother is a distinct and permanent vocation, rooted in fraternity, service, witness, and hope—not simply a preparation for priesthood. Participants reflected on the need to foster greater understanding, visibility, and appreciation of the Brothers’ vocation within the Society and the wider Church.

In a world wounded by conflict, poverty, violence, broken families, and other forms of suffering, the Brothers were encouraged to become pilgrims of hope. They were invited to allow God to heal their own wounds so that they, in turn, may accompany others with compassion and solidarity.

The assembly also highlighted the diverse ways in which Brothers serve the Church and society, including education, healthcare, administration, agriculture, technical work, engineering, pastoral ministry, and social development. Through these ministries, Brothers make Christ’s love visible in everyday life.

Prayer, small-group sharing, cultural encounters, and moments of fraternity strengthened the participants’ sense of belonging to one AFRAM brotherhood. A visit to Lake Naivasha and a pastoral encounter at Divine Word Parish in Nairobi further enriched the experience.

The assembly concluded with a renewed commitment to live the Brothers’ vocation with greater confidence, fraternity, compassion, and missionary zeal.
Its central message was clear: healed by God’s love, united as Brothers, and sent forth as servants, they are called to be credible pilgrims of hope in a wounded world.
