The Eucharist was presided over by Fr. John the Baptist Nguyễn Hữu Duy, SVD, Provincial Superior of the Vietnam Province, together with more than 110 concelebrating priests. Numerous religious, family members, relatives, and faithful from different parts of the country gathered to accompany the candidates on this important milestone in their vocational journey.

In his homily, Fr. John the Baptist Duy invited the candidates and the assembly to reflect on a question that resonates deeply with many young people today: How can one live a truly radiant life? He encouraged them to distinguish between the kind of radiance promoted by contemporary society and the radiance that flows from a life rooted in the Gospel and authentic discipleship.

“The radiance of the Gospel,” he explained, “is a beauty that does not dazzle but endures; a light that does not blind but helps people find their way to God. The true radiance of consecrated life is found not in outward success, but in allowing Christ to grow ever more fully within one’s life.”

Following the tradition of the Society of the Divine Word, the newly professed confreres received a devotional medal of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Holy Spirit, together with the Society’s Constitutions. Those making their Perpetual Profession also received the Mission Cross and were solemnly blessed and commissioned for missionary service.

May these newly professed confreres continue to shine through the light of the Divine Word, witnessing God’s everlasting love and serving His mission with faithfulness and generosity.
