Vocation Promotion at National Youth Jubilee in Zimbabwe

Masvingo, Zimbabwe — Fr. Dennis Ryan Varquez, SVD, represented the Society of the Divine Word (SVD) during the recent National Youth Jubilee celebrations held from April 24 to 27, 2025 at St. Patrick’s Mission, Gokomere, in the Diocese of Masvingo. The event, centered around the theme “Pilgrims of Hope,” gathered youth from across Zimbabwe for prayer, reflection, and inspiration.
In addition to his role as priest-in-charge of a mission station, Fr. Varquez also serves as Vocation Promoter for SVD Zimbabwe. He used the opportunity to introduce the SVD mission to youth from dioceses where the congregation is not yet present, fostering conversations about faith, service, and religious life.
“We pray that more young men and women will answer the call of God to be messengers of hope to others,” Fr. Varquez shared, expressing hope that the Jubilee would inspire future vocations within the Church.
