Youth Eucharistic Congress in Warsaw

On May 1, 2025, on the memorial of St. Joseph, the 3rd Eucharistic Congress of Vietnamese Catholic Youth in Poland took place at the parish of St. Stanislaus Kostka in Mroków. This year, the patron of the event was Blessed Carlo Acutis. The Eucharistic Congress gathered around 1,000 children and young people, creating an unforgettable atmosphere of faith, unity, and community. The theme of this year’s congress — “The Eucharist – the Highway to Heaven” — inspired participants to deepen their relationship with Jesus present in the Blessed Sacrament.

The gathering began with a solemn procession with the Blessed Sacrament, followed by Eucharistic adoration. The young Vietnamese participants attended conferences, testimonies, and artistic performances that showcased the beauty of the Catholic faith and Vietnamese culture.  The most important moment of the congress was the solemn Holy Mass, presided over by Fr. Józef Nguyen Huy Them, SVD. The homily was delivered by Fr. Jan Nguyen Van Thuat, SVD, who reminded the faithful of the Eucharist’s role as a source of strength in everyday life. After the Holy Mass, Fr. Sylwester Grabowski, SVD, Provincial of the Divine Word Missionaries in Poland, addressed the congregation. On behalf of the Polish Province of the Society of the Divine Word and the Fu Shenfu Migrant Centre in Warsaw, he congratulated the Vietnamese community and the confreres responsible for the pastoral care of Vietnamese Catholics in Poland for organizing such a wonderful celebration, highlighting the importance of the Eucharist in the life of believers.

The event concluded with a shared meal (agape) and performances by choirs and Vietnamese parish groups from across Poland. This provided an opportunity to build new connections among members of different communities and other participants of the event. The gathering turned out to be not only a well-organized event but also a profound spiritual experience wich will remain in the hearts of every participant. We thank God and Blessed Carlo Acutis, the patron of this year’s meeting, for this blessed time! The Divine Word Missionaries carry out pastoral ministry among the Vietnamese community in Poland and Latvia. Thanks to their efforts, Vietnamese Catholics are able to live out their faith within their own culture and language. Currently, in addition to Sunday Eucharistic celebrations at the parishes of St. Hedwig of Silesia in Warsaw and St. Stanislaus Kostka in Mroków, Holy Masses for Vietnamese communities are also held once a month in Gdynia, Katowice, Września, Kraków, and Szczecin.
