Mission Animation is one of the four characteristic dimensions of the Society. This is done according to the local context in varied ways. These activities include to animate the confreres to be committed missionaries in the local context, to animate laity to be effective witnesses to the Reign of God, to encourage mission mindedness among people, to encourage laypeople to be partners in mission, to promote lay associates with Arnoldus spirituality and charism, to encourage lay missionaries and to be promote vocations.

Mission Secretary is designated to carry out this mission animation and also to take care of the welfare of the missionaries outside his province or region and also to raise funds for the missions. He promotes the parishes that are administered by us to become “missionary parishes”; animates and forms the SVD lay associates to be effective partners in carrying our missionary activities; encourages celebrating “SVD Mission Day/Weekend/Week” in the provinces and regions and takes proactive measures for efficacious mission animation.
