This month, we feature Father Xene Sanchez SVD in our Missionary Chronicles. He spent 40 years as a missionary in the Democratic Republic of Congo. His main goal was to bring Jesus’ teachings to life in the community he served. He once shared a powerful story: a village leader walked 30 kilometers to say,”We don’t need money or things. Please come and share Jesus’ teachings with us.” This shows how hungry people are for God’s word.

This encounter reminds us of our duty to spread the word of God. We are like channels, allowing people to be touched by God’s words, which can transform and inspire them.

Preparing for the 19th General Chapter, we are reminded that our mission is ongoing. However, we also need clear direction and vision for all our tasks. Let us pray for our Capitulars as they work to provide this direction and vision for the next six years.
