CAUCUS 2024 at Collegio del Verbo Divino
From January 11 until January 17, 2024, the General Council, under the leadership of Superior General Paulus Budi Kleden, convened alongside Zonal Coordinators and officials of the Generalate for the Caucus (Planning Sessions) held at Collegio del Verbo Divino.
In attendance for the first time were the newly appointed Zonal Coordinator of ASPAC, Father Narciso Cellan SVD, and the Zonal Coordinator of EUROPA, Father Franz Helm SVD.
The commencement of the planning session featured a significant input session led by Father Jose Cyriac Melukunnel SVD, the Rector of Collegio San Pietro in Rome. His insightful discourse centered on “Healing amid Personal and Community Woundedness.”
Following this, diverse Generalate officers, secretaries, and coordinators introduced preliminary versions of their reports during the 19th General Chapter. The assembly deliberated on these reports, offering suggestions for modifications, and addressing supplementary issues.
A specific portion of the meeting was dedicated to comprehensive discussions and strategic planning for the imminent 19th General Chapter, with a focus on examining relevant subjects. Facilitators of the General Chapter actively participated in caucus sessions. Furthermore, key areas of focus encompassed the examination of the SVD Ratio Formationis Generalis and the assessment of the Zonal structure.
This official gathering exemplified a commitment to strategic planning, collaboration, and the continued advancement of the Society of the Divine Word’s mission and objectives.
