Called to sow Hope and build Peace.

In response to the appeal from Pope Francis in his Message for the 61st World Day of Prayer for Vocations and also the Year of Prayer in preparation for the Jubilee Holy Year 2025, the SVD/SSpS Missionary Team of the Liúpo/Mogincual Mission planned several activities to live intensely this Vocational Week. During the week, we had nightly meetings with those called to vocations, where we presented a motivating video and vocational dynamics. Approximately 30 young people and adolescents participated in these meetings, many of whom live in our homes.

In the parish  of Liúpo, we had formation meetings in the areas with catechists, and in the parish of Mogincual, with the family pastoral. These meetings were a good opportunity to reflect, pray, meditate, and remember, with gratitude, the faithful, daily, and often hidden commitment of those who embraced a vocation that involves their entire life.

May our Catechesis, Family, and the Christian Community be the place where children, adolescents, and young people can awaken to the vocation to Lay Ministries, to Marriage, to Consecrated Life, and to Ordained Ministries. The Lord speaks to our hearts and wants to find them open, sincere, and generous.

Also, the vocational animator of the SVD MOZ Region took the opportunity to visit the SVD vocation candidates of the Provinces of Zambézia and Niassa. He traveled a distance of over 1,000 km to reach their homes, visit their families, talk to them, and their parish priests. This closeness ensures that we can know them and accompany them better before they enter our Formation House. On Good Shepherd Sunday, our Christian Communities, in union with the whole Church prayed for more vocations.
