SVD and SSpS Religious Communities bring Easter Joy to Churches

The Divine Word Missionaries and the SSpS sisters spread Easter joy to the South Sudanese communities in Uganda. They conducted Mass and administered other Sacraments, followed by activities with children, teaching them new songs and guiding them through the order of Mass. Additionally, they visited the poor and the sick, assisting them to receive Holy Communion and providing medical aid where needed.

On Easter Sunday, Fr. Andrzej Dzida SVD and Sister Josepha SSpS visited Saint Yangani Church in Abrimajo, while Fr. Wojciech Pawlowski SVD and Sister Francisca went to Saint Joseph in Yoyo. Meanwhile, Brother Bernard, Sister Mariacel, and Father Andrew celebrated Mass at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, where Fr. Andrew Truong SVD blessed the congregation, administered Communion, and prayed for those in need.

Every Tuesday, the SSpS sisters join the SVD community for Mass, where they pray for peace in South Sudan and share fellowship over breakfast, exchanging stories and offering mutual support in their missions. Monthly gatherings, known as Agape, bring the SVD and SSpS communities together to celebrate birthdays, feastdays, and share traditional foods from their respective cultures. These gatherings strengthen their bond and renew their commitment to their shared mission of bringing people closer to Christ.
